ProPartnering's Influence Workshop helps clients design a plan for obtaining needed behaviors from key individuals by influencing their perceptions. The workshop can focus on an individual (e.g., a key executive) or group; it can be for a specific, near-term outcome or broader, longer-term objectives. ProPartnering leads participants through a structured analysis of the objectives, target audience(s), messages, and sources of influence. The end result is a plan the client can implement to get what they need - real support from senior executives, collaboration from the sales team, etc.
Results: Participants will finish the workshop with a clear action plan for influencing a specific group or individual. They will have developed specific messages, chosen varies influence techniques, and identified appropriate "influencers" to carry the messages.
They will also have developed new influencing tools for use elsewhere. Participants will develop a better ability to "read" people and use observations about their behaviors to refine communications to be more effective. They will understand more subtle things people consider in making decisions, and will be better able to use these to help influence (and keep from unintentionally allowing them to dissuade). Participants will also learn how to put these influence techniques together into a complete, multi-faceted campaign,
Inputs: Participants should arrive at the workshop with a well-developed understanding of what they need from the group or individual. Clear roles and actions are preferable. They should have an understanding of how these people, and their desired actions, fit into the overall alliance plan.
Participants should also bring with them a knowledge of the target group or individual. This should be personal knowledge and insight. If the target group or individual is not well known to the participant they should include someone in the workshop who brings personal insight. If there are known "influencers" (e.g. senior executives, industry authorities, etc.) it is useful to have attendees with insight into these individuals as well.
Outputs: The main output of the Influence Workshop is the influence campaign plan. An Influence Mechanism / Source Map provides a concise record of most of this plan. It identifies the specific actions the client is targeting, the key messages, the techniques that will be used, and the source of influence that will be tapped. The only element needed to complete the campaign plan is an action plan to obtain more "evidence", craft messages, and implement communications.
Duration: 2 - 4 hours
